Job summary

The Hillman Group is seeking a Material Handler to support operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas within the facility using a range of powered industrial equipment. Primary duties include loading/unloading trucks, stocking, replenishment, and moving items with pallet jacks and forklifts.

The role requires standing on concrete, forklift operation certification, and the ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Forklift certification is required.
• Experience with material handling preferred.

Responsibilities

• Operates a variety of powered industrial equipment.
• Loads and unloads trucks.
• Uses a hand scanner to track materials.
• Picks up incoming materials from Receiving dock.
• Unloads and stores stock in Bulk storage area.
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations promptly.
• Selects and stocks correct product to boxes and pick locations.
• Transfers finished products to designated areas.
• Stacks pallets and skids in designated areas.
• Operates pallet jack (manual or motorized).
• Reports problems to manager.

Job Summary

Supports Operations by moving materials and finished products to designated areas in the facility with a variety of powered industrial equipment.

Essential Job Functions *

• Operates a variety of powered, industrial equipment
• Loads and unloads trucks
• Ability to use a hand scanner
• Picks-up incoming materials from the Receiving dock
• Unloads and puts away stock in the Bulk storage area
• Provides replenishment materials to workstations in a timely manner
• Pulls and stocks correct product to appropriate boxes and pick locations
• Transfers finished products to designated areas
• Stacks empty skids and pallets in designated areas
• Operates a manual and/or motorized pallet jack
• Uses knowledge and experience to resolve basic operating problems; reports other problems to manger

Education & Experience

Competencies – Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Material handling experience is strongly preferred.
• Familiarity with part numbering systems is a plus.
• Able to operate a pallet jack, forklift, order picker and Drexel.
• Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

Material Handler: Must be forklift operation certified. Standing on concrete floors up to 8 hrs/day. Exposure to loud noise. Functional vision and hearing required.

Physical Demands

Material Handler: Medium - Heavy, lifting up to 70 lbs.
