Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a Material Handler I for our Fort Wayne, IN location. The role focuses on receiving, filling, and shipping products with safe, efficient handling and accurate paperwork.

You will operate power equipment, unload shipments, verify conditions and quantities, and ensure proper labeling and stock control. The position requires a HS diploma or GED, 0–1 year related experience, and forklift certification or willingness to obtain.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 0–1 year related experience and/or training.
• Forklift certification required, or willingness to obtain on the job.
• Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
• Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry, principles, and practices.
• OSHA and safety regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operates power equipment (electric pallet, walkie rider, sit-down forklift) to locate, put away, stack, and move products.
• Receives product by unloading trucks using forklift, pallet jack, electric pallet jack, or by hand.
• Verifies shipments against packing lists and completes paperwork for discrepancies.
• Ensures bar code labels and stock numbers are present by scanning, labeling, and paperwork.
• Fills orders by picking, packing, and labeling into cartons; prepares for shipment.
