Job summary

Johnstone Supply is seeking a Material Handler I to join our HVACR wholesale distribution team in Michigan. You will receive, pick, pack, and ship products, operating forklifts and RF scanners to ensure accurate, efficient processing of orders.

Responsibilities include verifying shipments, labeling, and paperwork, plus maintaining safety and inventory accuracy. OSHA regulations and safety training are encouraged to ensure a safe, productive workplace.

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED required; 0–1 year related experience or training.
Preferred: Experience with a picker, forklift, RF scanner, and inventory management systems.
Knowledge of HVAC wholesale industry is a plus.
OSHA and safety regulations knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate power equipment (forklift, walkie/rider, pallet jack) safely to move products.
Receive products by unloading trucks and verifying quantities.
Inspect shipments for damage and verify against packing lists.
Ensure bar codes and stock numbers are readable and correctly labeled.
Fill and pack orders, prepare shipments, and maintain paperwork.
Participate in inventory cycle counts and maintain clean, safe work areas.
