Job summary

Specialty Building Products is seeking a Material Handler - EWP to join our team in Mobile, AL. This role focuses on safely operating forklifts to load, unload, move, and stage material, and on pulling orders accurately.

You will work with Supervisors and colleagues, support inventory control, and learn to use tools like a chainsaw and Holtec Saw, read tickets, and measure materials to ensure precision and efficiency in daily tasks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year warehouse distribution experience.
• Prior lumber experience desired. Engineered Lumber experience is preferred.
• Forklift experience and forklift certification preferred, but not required.
• Must have basic math and analytical skills
• Must be computer literate, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Safely operate forklifts or machinery to load, unload, move, and stage material.
• Band, wrap, and tape product as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized warehouse; ensure correct location of products.
• Work cooperatively with Supervisors and other employees to complete workload.
• Provide and inspire outstanding service to customers with attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
• Assist with inventory variances, order accuracy and track/trace issues.
• Follow safety policies and perform daily forklift safety checks.
• Read tickets and product codes; learn to use a chainsaw and Holtec Saw.
• Read a tape measure.
• Accurately pull daily orders.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisors or management.
