Job summary

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Material Handler on 1st shift at our Conover, NC location. This position is responsible for efficiently and safely handling unfinished and/or finished product or material to ensure an orderly flow of raw materials and finished goods.

The successful candidate will read and interpret measurements, lift up to 25 lbs, operate basic machinery, use SAP, and communicate effectively with team members while supporting overtime as needed.

Qualifications

  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret a tape measure.
  • Familiar with SAP.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for Material Handler on 1stshift at our Conover, NC location. This position is responsible for efficiently and safely handling unfinished and/or finished product or material to ensure an orderly flow of raw materials and finished goods.

The successful candidate will be able to communicate with department supervisors, department operators, and production personnel on a daily basis, and maintain a well-organized work area that is safely stacked and properly labeled to achieve the necessary results to meet production and shipping schedules.

Skills and Requirements:
  • Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills
  • Ability to work in a continuous fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 25 lbs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others
  • Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and overtime.
  • Ability to operate machinery proficiently
Additional responsibilities:
  • Receive materials and assemble parts into bedding components.
  • Assist with other areas of the production area as needed.
Minimum Qualifications:

Must have basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Must have the ability to read and interpret a tape measure.

Familiar with SAP.

Other duties as assigned by management.

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Work Hours:

6:00am - 14:30pm or depending on business needs

Hourly Rate:

$22.02 - 22.75.
