Job summary

MIRATECH in Houston is seeking a Material Handler to support fabrication and welding teams by prepping materials, maintaining accurate inventory, locating parts, and coordinating receiving and staging of job orders to keep customer orders flowing smoothly.

Daily duties include loading and unloading with forklifts, moving materials to production areas, inspecting incoming shipments, counting stock, recording transactions, and collaborating with production and warehouse staff to meet schedules

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Ability to handle metal parts and insulation; physically able for repetitive bending and lifting.
• Ability to count, read warehouse map with bin locations
• Ability to work independently with little direct supervision.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.
• Prior forklift experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport materials and products to and from production areas using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
• Ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials and products throughout the facility.
• Safely stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments to verify contents and quality.
• Maintain accurate records of materials, inventory counts, and transactions.
• Assist in keeping the warehouse and production areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are readily available to meet production schedules.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery in a safe and controlled manner.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance on material handling equipment.

Reports to: Houston Quality Control Manager/Director

Cooperates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility: The material handler assists the fabrication and welding teams in a manufacturing setting. The prepping of materials, accurate inventory counts, knowledge of parts' locations, receiving process, and staging job orders is essential in the flow of customer orders throughout the building as well as improves labor performance of departmental teams.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift
• Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time

Qualifications:

• Ability to handle metal parts and insulation and be physically sound for repetitive bending and lifting
• Ability to count, calculate, read warehouse map with bin locations
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices
• Prior forklift experience preferred
