Job summary

MIRATECH in Houston, TX seeks a Material Handler to support fabrication and welding by prepping materials, counting inventory, locating parts, receiving, and staging job orders to improve workflow.

You will move materials, monitor stock, and coordinate with production and warehouse teams to keep schedules on track, while using forklifts and other equipment safely. Equal opportunity employer with solid benefits.

Qualifications

• Prior forklift experience.
• Ability to count, calculate and read warehouse maps with bin locations.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision and communicate clearly.
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices.

Responsibilities

• Load, unload, and transport materials to and from production areas and storage locations using forklifts or pallet jacks.
• Ensure timely and accurate movement of materials throughout the facility.
• Safely stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting shipments and maintaining records of materials and transactions.
• Keep warehouse and production areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to meet production schedules.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery safely.
• Follow all PPE and safety protocols; conduct routine equipment checks.

Job description

Location: Houston, Texas

Reports to: Houston Manufacturing Supervisor

Collaborates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping

Primary Responsibility: The material handler assists the fabrication and welding teams in a manufacturing setting. The prepping of materials, accurate inventory counts, knowledge of parts' locations, receiving process, and staging job orders is essential in the flow of customer orders throughout the building as well as improves labor performance of departmental teams.

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 1:30am with overtime as necessary; sometimes required.

What You'll Do:

• Load, unload, and transport materials and products to and from production areas, warehouses, or storage locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
• Ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials and products throughout the facility.
• Safely stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
• Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
• Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments to verify contents and quality. Maintain accurate records of materials, inventory counts, and transactions.
• Assist in keeping the warehouse and production areas clean and organized.
• Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are readily available to meet production schedules.
• Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery in a safe and controlled manner.
• Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct routine checks and maintenance on material handling equipment.

What Qualifies You:

• Prior forklift experience
• High School Diploma
• Ability to handle metal parts and insulation and be physically sound for repetitive bending and lifting
• Ability to count, calculate, read warehouse map with bin locations
• Ability to work independently and complete duties and projects with little direct supervision
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of safe workplace practices

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and heavier items with team lift
• Standing, bending, and walking for extended periods of time
