Job description

Reports to: Houston Manufacturing Supervisor
Collaborates with: Welding, Fabrication, Substrate Assembly, Shipping
Primary Responsibility:

The material handler assists the fabrication and welding teams in a manufacturing setting. The prepping of materials, accurate inventory counts, knowledge of parts' locations, receiving process, and staging job orders is essential in the flow of customer orders throughout the building as well as improves labor performance of departmental teams.

Shift: 2nd Shift Monday - Thursday, 3pm - 1:30am with overtime as necessary; sometimes required.

What You’ll Do:
  • Load, unload, and transport materials and products to and from production areas, warehouses, or storage locations using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other equipment.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate movement of materials and products throughout the facility.
  • Safely stack, organize, and store materials in designated areas.
  • Monitor inventory levels and report shortages or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist in receiving and inspecting incoming shipments to verify contents and quality. Maintain accurate records of materials, inventory counts, and transactions.
  • Assist in keeping the warehouse and production areas clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with production and warehouse teams to ensure materials are readily available to meet production schedules.
  • Operate forklifts, cranes, and other heavy machinery in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Conduct routine checks and maintenance on material handling equipment.
