Qualifications

  • Comfortable with standing, walking, climbing stairs, stretching, and performing physical work for extended periods.

Job Summary

We are seeking a Material Handler for a contract opportunity in Wyandotte, MI, supporting a 24/7 manufacturing facility that produces thermoplastic polyurethane materials used across multiple industries. This hands-on production support role is ideal for a dependable, safety-focused candidate with manufacturing or industrial experience who enjoys active work, teamwork, and learning production processes.

This opportunity offers paid training through computer-based learning and hands-on job shadowing. Candidates will work in a structured manufacturing environment with clear procedures, strong safety standards, and a team-oriented culture where communication, reliability, and mechanical aptitude are valued.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select, charge, and mix raw materials according to established production procedures.
  • Support setup, operation, and monitoring of production and processing equipment.
  • Package, label, and prepare finished products while following quality standards.
  • Move materials using proper material-handling methods and approved equipment.
  • Follow safety, quality, housekeeping, and productivity requirements throughout each shift.
  • Communicate with team members and supervisors to support smooth production flow.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay: $22.00 per hour.
  • Job Type: Long Term Contract.
  • Location: Wyandotte, MI.
  • Schedule: 12-hour rotating schedule.
  • Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday, totaling 36 hours.
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday, totaling 48 hours.
  • Total schedule: 84 hours every two weeks.
  • Employees rotate between day and night shifts after each 7-day work cycle.
  • Contract employees follow an every-other-weekend-off rotating schedule.
  • Paid training includes computer-based learning and hands-on job shadowing.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Support raw material selection, charging, mixing, packaging, and labeling.
  • Operate and assist with production equipment setup in a manufacturing environment.
  • Monitor production processes and complete assigned tasks safely and accurately.
  • Perform material handling duties while maintaining a clean and safe work area.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing, production, or general industrial experience required.
  • Ability to work a 12-hour rotating schedule, including rotating day and night shifts.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. periodically.
