Job Summary

We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused Production Operator for a contract opportunity in Wyandotte, MI. This role supports operations in a 24/7 Thermoplastic Polyurethane manufacturing environment and is ideal for candidates with manufacturing, industrial, chemical production, compounding, or processing experience.

As a Production Operator, you will help keep production running safely and efficiently by handling raw materials, operating processing equipment, monitoring production activity, and packaging finished products. This opportunity offers steady hours, hands‑on training, a team‑oriented environment, and the potential for extension or hire. The work environment values safety, quality, reliability, teamwork, and strong communication, with supportive leadership and clear expectations for success.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select, charge, and mix raw materials according to established production procedures.
  • Set up, operate, and monitor processing equipment and auxiliary manufacturing equipment.
  • Package and label finished TPU products according to quality and specification requirements.
  • Monitor equipment and production processes for irregularities and take appropriate action.
  • Follow all safety, quality, productivity, and company procedures while working under time constraints.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support safe and consistent plant operations.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Pay Rate: $22 per hour.
  • Job Type: 12-month contract with potential for extension or hire.
  • Schedule: 12-hour shifts, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
  • Week 1: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, totaling 36 hours.
  • Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, totaling 48 hours.
  • Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, with rotating shift expectations as required.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Operate manufacturing and processing equipment used in TPU production.
  • Handle raw material selection, charging, mixing, packaging, and labeling activities.
  • Monitor production processes while maintaining safety, quality, and productivity standards.
  • Complete required computer-based training and job-shadowing activities.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year of manufacturing or general industrial experience required.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.
  • Moderate mechanical aptitude and ability to follow detailed work instructions.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality, reliability, and productivity.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take direction and work with limited supervision after training.
  • Strong teamwork skills and customer-focused work habits.
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stretch, and climb or descend stairs for prolonged periods.
  • Ability to periodically lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to successfully complete the required assessment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Forklift or fork truck experience.
  • Pallet jack experience.
  • Working knowledge of common industrial safe‑work practices.
  • Experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in a compounding facility.
  • Experience in an injection molding facility.
