Job summary

Sewer Equipment is seeking a Material Handler to accurately move products with a forklift in our Dixon, IL facility. The role involves receiving, storing, and tracking materials, and supporting shipping activities to keep production on schedule.

Responsibilities include verifying shipments, maintaining records, and resolving issues with contractors or vendors. Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds and work in varying weather conditions.

Job description

Sewer Equipment provides the highest quality and most innovative sewer cleaning products for the municipal and contractor market.

The Material Handler is responsible to accurately transfer products with a forklift, both physically and logically, into and/or out of the facility in a timely manner.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Receives, distributes, and stores products as directed in designated, secure locations.
• Prepares and maintains records of materials received and shipped including dates of transactions, locations, and other pertinent information.
• Reviews shipments for quality and accuracy; reviews accompanying documents for accuracy.
• Confirms shipping details or special instructions; expedites shipments that affect the manufacturing process schedule.
• Transports and loads materials, supplies, and finished goods (manually and/or using hand trucks and skids).
• When problems arise, resolves issues with contractors or vendors.
• Validates, approves, and forwards invoices to accounting department.
• Collects and properly disposes of scrap bracing, cardboard, and strapping; maintains a safe and clean work environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Good math and written communication skills.

Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years' Forklift experience

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods of standing.
• Must be able to lift up to 70 pounds at a time.
• Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures inside and outside of the warehouse.

Commitments and Location:

• Permanent Full-Time Role Based in Dixon, IL
• Day Shift: Monday-Thursday 6:30 am- 5:00pm

Benefits Include:

• Pay Range of $17.03 - $22.14.
• Productivity Bonus, paid quarterly. Average 2025 payout was $7/hour. Payouts are based on overall company profitability, and attendance
• $500 sign on bonus, paid after 90 days of employment
