Material Flow Analyst — Inventory & Data Analytics

Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Material Flow Analyst (Starship) to support inventory accuracy, data-driven process improvements, and parts flow on the Starbase production lines. You will monitor cycle counts, identify improvement opportunities, and partner with production teams to prevent shortages and delays.

The role requires strong data analysis, SQL proficiency, and experience with BI tools and advanced Excel. Onsite at Starbase, with potential for cross-functional collaboration and project work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree; OR high school diploma or equivalency certificate AND 3+ years of experience in inventory analytics
• 1+ years of experience in operations, manufacturing, or supply chain
• Proficient in SQL for operations analysis
• Experience building and using BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas) for data aggregation and analysis
• Experience with inventory management and production systems (MRP/ERP)
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects with tight timelines and ambiguity
• Understanding of Supply Chain and Inventory Control fundamentals
• Superior attention to detail and ability to influence decisions
• Excellent written and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Monitor inventory data daily via the cycle counting program to ensure high accuracy and respond to issues
• Identify opportunities for process and systems improvement and lead changes to improve safety, accuracy, delivery and productivity
• Work with leaders to ensure parts flow and availability on the lineside; resolve shortages or discrepancies
• Review area metrics and present data-driven insights to leadership
• Support critical projects by providing data to inform design decisions and monitor progress
