SpaceX in Starbase, TX is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer focused on material flow to analyze, design, and optimize receiving, storage, movement, and presentation of materials for Starship programs.

You will leverage lean principles, data analytics, and project management to ensure safe, efficient, and cost‑effective material handling across flight and non‑flight programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• 1+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Design and optimize material flow from receipt to lineside and reverse logistics.
• Develop layouts for material flow and storage to achieve inventory targets.
• Develop labor and equipment models to match material flow strategies.
• Create cost‑effective packaging solutions for inter‑vendor and Starbase use.
• Use Excel/Tableau/SQL to analyze material flow performance and drive solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments and lead safety/training initiatives for materials processes.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Production and Supply Chain on cross‑functional projects.
