How you will create an impact

As a Material Damage Specialistyou will support the Claims team regarding vehicle and heavy equipment damage assessments. This role involves drafting and reviewing vehicle estimates, negotiating settlements and providing guidance to adjusters to enhance outcomes. The ideal candidate will have expertise in valuingprivate passenger vehicles and heavy equipment, along with strong analytical and negotiation skills.

  • Conduct detailed reviews of vehicle and heavy equipment estimates to ensure an accurate appraisal of damages. Evaluate the accuracy and efficiency of material damage claims handling processes.
  • Determine the accurate market value ofprivate passenger vehicles and heavy equipmentfor claims settlements.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations with repair shops, insureds, and other stakeholders to ensure fair and accurate payouts.
  • Maintain thorough records of findings and provide recommendations for process improvements.
  • Provide guidance to adjusters and claims teams to enhance best possible outcomes and estimating accuracy.

What you will need to succeed

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in material damage auto appraisals, or heavy equipment valuation.
  • Proficiency in estimating software (CCC, Audatex, Mitchell) and an understanding of market valuation tools.
  • Strong understanding of state insurance laws and industry best practices .
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies, errors, and inefficiencies in damage estimates.
  • Proven ability to handle settlement negotiations with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and training purposes.
  • I-CAR, ASE, or other relevant industry certifications preferred.
