Job Summary: The Machine Sales Representative is responsible for business development and ongoing maintenance of heavy equipment customers within the assigned sales territory.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and maintaining a solid customer base for heavy equipment sales
  2. Promoting sales of all equipment lines and customer support programs
  3. Maintaining targeted company profit levels on sales
  4. Keeping customers current with manufacturer information
  5. Maintaining high levels of product and service knowledge
  6. Taking positive actions to improve quality and customer satisfaction
  7. Reporting competitive market data
  8. Visiting customer facilities and job sites to assess current and future equipment needs
  9. Developing the sales territory and increasing the customer base
  10. Attending sales training to stay informed of all heavy equipment products and services
  11. Other duties as assigned

Minimum requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, or a related field highly preferred
  • 2+ years of successful sales experience in heavy machinery or related equipment
  • Proficiency in customer relationship skills
  • Knowledge of heavy equipment applications
  • Discretion handling confidential information
  • Positive personality, team player, problem solver, self-starter, integrity, excellent communication skills
  • Ability to travel overnight for training or business
  • Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and physical
