Job summary

University of Colorado Anschutz in Aurora, CO is seeking a Medication Dispensing Nurse, LPN I to assess a patient’s physical and mental state, determine MAT readiness, dispense medications, and maintain accurate records. The role requires early start hours and on-site duties across ARTS clinics.

The position supports ARTS Adult Outpatient Program locations in Aurora, Arvada, Denver and Sheridan, with potential MMU shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid LPN or RN license with Colorado DORA.
• Prior work with medication-assisted treatment.
• Experience using an electronic patient health record system.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications such as methadone, Suboxone, Naltrexone, Antabuse, and extended‑release injectable naltrexone to patients.
• Transport narcotic medication following DEA/State/Federal regulations and ARTS policies, using a lock box.
• Monitor each patient’s vital signs and health condition.
• Draw blood for analysis/labs and administer TB tests.
• Assess adverse reactions and report to team lead.
• Handle infectious materials per policy and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned by ARTS AOP Nursing Manager.
• Deliver medication to off-site locations in the greater Metro Denver area.
