Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing is seeking an experienced Technician I in Houston, TX. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on a diverse fleet, mentor others, and work independently on major and minor repairs while conducting road tests.

You will use Penske’s maintenance processes and advanced technology, with ongoing training to advance your career. This role offers strong safety, reliability, and a path for growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred.
• Specialized training and experience in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components; ASE and 608/609 certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and repairs vehicles to ensure safety for customers.
• Performs preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision.
• Repairs major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and replaces assemblies as needed.
• Keeps work area clean and safe and uses Penske tools and technologies for diagnostics and repairs.
• Learns new skills through Penske’s technician training and supports other projects as assigned.
