Job summary

Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P. is seeking an experienced Technician I to perform preventive maintenance and repairs across a diverse fleet. You will lead at your location, mentor others, and work independently on major and minor repairs, including road tests and diagnostics.

The role includes training on Penske maintenance processes and advanced vehicle technology, with safety as a top priority. A strong service mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 6 years of practical experience with truck and tractor-trailer maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
• Specialized training in diagnosis/troubleshooting major components (engines, transmissions, differentials); OEM training; ASE Certification; 608/609 certifications preferred
• Experienced using tools of the trade: welding equipment, diagnostic equipment, hand and power tools
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL preferred
• Ability to solve problems
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Willing to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
• Basic computer skills
• Understand and comply with Penske safety policies (DOT/OSHA)
• Willingness to travel within district

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair vehicles to ensure safety for customers
• Perform preventive maintenance on truck and trailer equipment with minimal supervision
• Repair major components (engines, transmissions, differentials) and replace assemblies
• Keep work area clean and safe
• Log and diagnose repairs using Penske tools and technologies
• Learn new skills via Penske technician training
• Take on additional projects as assigned by supervisor
