Job summary

Nelnet Business Services (NBS) is seeking a Data Management Lead to establish and maintain standards for trusted master data across the organization. You will define entity resolution, survivorship, and authoritative-source practices, guiding remediation and embedding data requirements into new systems.

The role collaborates across business and technology teams to resolve complex data ownership issues and report on data quality, with an emphasis on standards-driven solution delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years in master data management, data quality, governance, or related data discipline.
• Experience defining match rules, thresholds, survivorship logic, identity resolution, or golden-record practices.
• Experience across multiple source systems and data platforms, including SQL-based profiling and validation.

Responsibilities

• Develop, document, and maintain matching, threshold, survivorship, and golden-record standards for master data domains.
• Define canonical identifiers, authoritative sources, data ownership, and attribute governance rules across systems.
• Establish repeatable entity-resolution practices for consistent recognition across sources.
• Partner with technical teams to translate master data standards into solutions and validate results.
