Job summary

Daikin Applied in Faribault, MN is hiring for a brake operator to read blueprints, set up and run brake presses, and inspect parts to spec. The role requires good manual dexterity, attention to detail and the ability to work weekends on a 6:00am–6:30pm shift.

You will measure parts, adjust programs, maintain a clean workstation (5S) and participate in training new hires. Our facility offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED; 2+ years in manufacturing/production.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret specifications.
• Proficiency with measuring tools and quality checks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or product specs to determine fabrication sequence.
• Set up, program, and operate brake presses to form parts per procedures.
• Measure work pieces and adjust machines to meet tolerances.
• Identify defects, rework as needed and maintain quality standards.
• Train new team members on machines, safety and procedures.
• Maintain 5S in the work area and follow safety manuals.
• Operate PIT and obtain required license; perform light maintenance.

Join the world's largest HVAC company!Starting Wage : $32.67Shift : Weekend Shift - 6:00am-6:30pm Friday-SundayLocation : Daikin Applied - Faribault SouthWhat’s in it for you:Paid Time Off and Holiday PayMedical, Dental and Vision Insurance PlansPension Plan funded by DaikinTuition ReimbursementReferral Bonus ProgramGrowth OpportunitiesClimate Controlled FacilityYour Responsibilities:Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.Set up, program, and operate brake presses in accordance with outlined methods and procedures to safely and properly form various parts.Set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.Coordinate foot and hand motions to operate equipment, including foot pedals.Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.Make adjustments on machine and programs as required; remove burrs, sharp edges, rust or scale from work piece to comply with quality standards.Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces.Stack, mark and transport finished parts.Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software.
