Job summary

Daikin Applied in Faribault, MN, is seeking an experienced assembler/break press operator for a weekend shift from Friday to Sunday (6:00am–6:30pm). Starting wage is $31.57 per hour.

The role involves interpreting blueprints, setting up brake presses, and assembling sheet metal parts in a climate-controlled facility. The position requires English communication, ability to lift, stand for long periods, and proficiency with basic manufacturing software.

Qualifications

• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.
• Set up, program, and operate brake presses in accordance with tested methods and procedures to safely and properly form various parts.

Your Responsibilities:

• Read and interpretblue prints, sketches or product specifications todeterminesequence and methods of fabricating,assemblingand installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements.

• Set up, program, andoperatebrake pressesin accordance withoutlined methods and procedures tosafely and properly form various parts.

• Set stops or guides to specified length asindicatedby scale,ruleor template.

• Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade.

• Coordinate foot and hand motions tooperateequipment, including foot pedals.

• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machine malfunction.

• Measure work piece dimensions todetermineaccuracy of machine operation.

• Make adjustmentsonmachineand programs asrequired; remove burrs, sharp edges,rustor scale from workpiecetocomply withquality standards.

• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or work pieces.

• Stack, mark and transport finished parts.

• Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software. Ability to set up andoperateall brakes in their work area to qualify for Master Brake Operator designation, including properlymaking adjustments, consistently using pre-controls, and meeting or exceeding quality requirements.

• Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, hook rule, etc.

• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent itemsregardingsafety,qualityand production.

• Responsible formaintainingthe 5s program to ensure a clean work area.

• Follow and understandHOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manual requirements.

• Identifyand rework defective work pieces tocomply withquality standards.

• Ability to use hand tools.

• Operate PIT (Powered IndustrialTrucks),obtain PIT License.
• All other duties as assigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.

• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.

• The ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.

• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
