Job summary

Daikin Applied Americas is seeking applicants for a 2nd shift manufacturing role in Faribault North. The position requires reading blueprints, operating brake presses, and maintaining quality while adhering to safety standards.

Applicants should be able to train new team members and operate PIT equipment with proper licensing. The role offers a starting wage of $30.25 per hour plus a $2.30 shift differential for 2nd shift, with overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products.
• Set up, program, and operate brake presses in accordance with line methods and procedures to safely form parts.
• Use measuring equipment and tools to verify dimensions and quality standards.
• Train new members on machines, procedures, safety, and quality expectations.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blue prints, sketches or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling and installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
• Set up, program, and operate brake presses in accordance without lined methods and procedures to safely and properly form various parts
• Measure work piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent items regarding safety, quality and production
• Identify and rework defective work pieces to comply with quality standards
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks) and obtain PIT License
• Follow and understand HOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manual requirements

Your Responsibilities:

• Read and interpretblue prints, sketches or product specifications todeterminesequence and methods of fabricating,assemblingand installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
• Set up, program, andoperatebrake pressesin accordance withoutlined methods and procedures tosafely and properly form variousparts
• Set stops or guides to specified length asindicatedby scale,ruleortemplate
• Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with die orblade
• Coordinate foot and hand motions tooperateequipment, including footpedals
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machinemalfunction
• Measure work piece dimensions todetermineaccuracy of machineoperation
• Make adjustmentson machine and programs asrequired; remove burrs, sharp edges,rustor scale from work piece tocomply withqualitystandards
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces
• Stack, mark and transport finishedparts
• Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software. Ability to set up andoperateall brakes in their work area to qualify for Master Brake Operator designation, including properlymaking adjustments, consistently using pre-controls, and meeting or exceeding qualityrequirements
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, hook rule, etc.
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent itemsregardingsafety,qualityand production
• Responsible formaintainingthe 5s program to ensure a clean workarea
• Follow and understandHOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manualrequirements
• Identifyand rework defective work pieces tocomply withqualitystandards
• Ability to use handtools
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License
• All other duties asassigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
