Job summary

Daikin Applied in Faribault, MN is seeking a 2nd shift assembler to identify parts from BOMs, read engineering drawings and assemble sheet metal components for HVAC systems. You will use jigs, clamps, heat and nitrogen processes, and verify quality through wiring schematics and leak testing.

Training on line stations and 5S is provided. The role requires the ability to lift, stand long hours in a climate-controlled plant, and operate PIT equipment with a valid license.

Qualifications

• High School Education or GED required?
• Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify unit options using bill of materials to complete required work content per unit.
• Align, clamp and position work pieces using tools such as jigs, vices, etc. to comply with engineering drawings.
• Clean work pieces to remove debris using brushes or grinders.
• Apply heat, appropriate alloy and nitrogen to work pieces to produce assemblies.
• Ensure proper setup and handling of tanks, torches, hoses and regulators to ensure safety and quality standards are met.
• Complete assembly of work content to support production standards.
• Read and interpret engineering drawing to ensure quality standards are met.
• Use production support tools effectively (VKS, AMS, etc.).
• Must learn and understand all line stations.
• Read and follow wiring schematics; complete wiring training and achieve certification.
• Train new members on machines, procedures, safety, quality and production items.
• Maintain the 5S program for a clean work area.
• Follow HOMESafe and safety manuals.
• Identify and rework defective pieces to meet quality standards.
• Read blueprints, sketches or product specs to determine sequence and methods.
• Operate PIT and obtain PIT License.
• Obtain certification in leak testing and vacuum and charge.
• Other duties as assigned.
