Job summary

Daikin Applied, the world’s leading HVAC company, seeks skilled operators for a 2nd shift in Faribault North. The role involves reading blueprints, setting up brake presses, and ensuring quality through measurement and adjustments.

You’ll train others and maintain a clean, safe, efficient workflow in a climate-controlled facility. Starting wage is $30.25 plus $2.30 shift differential for 2nd shift; benefits include medical/dental/vision, 401(k) match, tuition reimbursement, PTO and holidays,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; 2 years related manufacturing/production experience acceptable.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches and product specifications.
• Experience setting up, programming and operating brake presses.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, sketches or specifications to determine fabrication and assembly methods.
• Set up, program and operate brake presses to form parts safely and accurately.
• Set stops or guides to specified lengths and align pieces with dies.
• Coordinate motions and operate equipment, including foot pedals.
• Inspect pieces and measure to ensure precision; identify and rework defects.
• Train new team members on machines, procedures and safety.

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday - Thursday, 5:00 PM to 3:30 AM with some overtime

Your Responsibilities:

• Read and interpretblue prints, sketches or product specifications todeterminesequence and methods of fabricating,assemblingand installing sheet metal products, including machine adjustments and material requirements per engineering requirements
• Set up, program, andoperatebrake pressesin accordance withoutlined methods and procedures tosafely and properly form variousparts
• Set stops or guides to specified length asindicatedby scale,ruleortemplate
• Position work piece against stops or align layout marks with die orblade
• Coordinate foot and hand motions tooperateequipment, including footpedals
• Observe machine operation to detect work piece defects or machinemalfunction
• Measure work piece dimensions todetermineaccuracy of machineoperation
• Make adjustmentson machine and programs asrequired; remove burrs, sharp edges,rustor scale from work piece tocomply withqualitystandards
• Perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies or workpieces
• Stack, mark and transport finishedparts
• Knowledge of Manufacturing software and Spreadsheet software. Ability to set up andoperateall brakes in their work area to qualify for Master Brake Operator designation, including properlymaking adjustments, consistently using pre-controls, and meeting or exceeding qualityrequirements
• Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measure, caliper, hook rule, etc.
• Train new members on the various machines, procedures, safe work practices and any pertinent itemsregardingsafety,qualityand production
• Responsible formaintainingthe 5s program to ensure a clean workarea
• Follow and understandHOMESafe, Persona Choice and company safety manualrequirements
• Identifyand rework defective work pieces tocomply withqualitystandards
• Ability to use handtools
• Operate PIT (Powered Industrial Trucks), obtain PIT License
• All other duties asassigned

Your Qualifications:

• The ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials, stand for majority of the shift, and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
• The ability to use hand tools for extended periods of time.
• The ability to read and understand written English.
• High School Education/GED OR Minimum 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
