Job summary

Avis Budget Group in Chicago, IL is hiring a Master Mechanic to diagnose and repair a diverse fleet across brands, ensuring safety and reliability for customers.

You will perform standard and complex repairs including warranty work on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical, HVAC, and onboard computers, while mentoring fellow technicians. A valid ASE certificate with 3+ years of experience is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of professional auto repair experience.
• Current ASE certifications (minimum of 3) with ability to acquire 2 additional within the first year.
• Strong knowledge across ASE areas including Engine Repair, Drivetrain/Axles, Suspension/Steering, Brakes, Electrical, Heating/Air Conditioning, Engine Performance.
• Must have a complete set of tools for automotive repair and maintenance.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a mechanical shop with moderate to loud noise.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and complex automotive repairs, including warranty work, on a wide range of vehicle makes and models.
• Diagnose and repair engines, transmissions, exhaust systems, brakes, electrical systems, air conditioning, and onboard computer systems.
• Work on a diverse fleet of newer vehicles across multiple brands and technologies.
• Serve as a technical resource for other technicians and share best practices.
