Job summary

The Massage Therapy Program Adjunct Faculty member is responsible for teaching both didactic and clinical instruction in the program. Teaching responsibilities include traditional face‑to‑face format with online supplement, lab and clinical, instructional and supervision.

Minimum Requirements

Must hold a valid Maryland State Massage Therapist license, and five years of working experience in the massage therapy profession. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally, follow written or oral directions and work both cooperatively and independently. Must have the strength to lift 45 lbs. and the ability to move massage equipment. Adjunct Faculty may sometimes need to work evenings, weekends and attend community outreach events.

Teaching experience preferred.

Class Specific Essential Duties
  • Provide didactic and clinical instruction in Massage Therapy, including classroom, laboratory, and clinical supervision assignments.
  • Maintain Maryland Massage Therapy License/Certification.
  • Work collaboratively to achieve departmental, divisional or institutional initiatives.
  • Maintain scheduled availability to students.
  • Conduct and supervise simulated and community outreach experiences.
  • Monitor student progress in labs and clinical rotations.
  • Follow established rules of the college and the accrediting body.
