Job summary

Roche seeks a Field Engineering Specialist – Mass Spectrometry to service cobas i601 systems in New Jersey. You will install, maintain, and repair high-end mass spectrometry equipment across customer labs, collaborating with national engineers on complex escalations.

The role requires hands-on hardware skills, experience with LC-MS/MS and HPLC/UHPLC, and willingness to travel 50%+. Strong troubleshooting and documentation abilities are essential as you support routine workflows and uphold

Qualifications

• High school diploma and technical training or equivalent.
• Bachelor's degree + 1–2 years related experience or 5 years field experience.
• Training or certification per RD Services Leadership and policy.
• Ability to travel including overnight travel (>50%).

Responsibilities

• Deliver regional field engineering support for cobas i601 systems.
• Perform hardware maintenance of mass spectrometry hardware.
• Execute targeted preventive maintenance on pumps and LC components.
• Diagnose mechanical, electronic, software, and fluidic failures.
• Provide applications/workflow support and guidance to operators.
• Collaborate with national engineers on escalations and major rollouts.
• Maintain customer relationships and accurate service documentation.
