Job summary

Roche is seeking a Senior Field Engineering Specialist – Mass Spectrometry to act as the country-wide SME for cobas i601 platforms. The role is field-based, with a national team, and requires extensive travel to client sites across the United States, including overnight stays.

You will master MS hardware and LC systems, lead preventive maintenance, and mentor engineers while collaborating with global support and R&D teams to resolve escalations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemistry or related field.
• 3-5 years of progressive experience repairing or servicing complex mechanical/system hardware and software.
• Experience in a clinical, manufacturing or research setting in health or diagnostics environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as National Technical SME for cobas i601 MS platforms across the U.S.
• Diagnose and repair LC-MS hardware including Vacuum and ion sources.
• Lead advanced preventive maintenance and deep diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Bridge hardware engineering with application workflows and training.
• Deliver nationwide technical and application training to staff.
• Resolve complex issues at the intersection of engineering and chemistry.
• Mentor field engineers and maintain quality standards.
• Provide national escalation support after hours and travel as required.
