Job summary

Roche is seeking a Field Engineering Specialist – Mass Spectrometry to provide hands-on field service across New Jersey. You will install, repair, calibrate, and maintain cobas i601 systems in customer laboratories, leveraging deep mass spectrometry knowledge and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance, data-driven troubleshooting, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure optimal performance while maintaining customer relationships and documentation

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent technical training.
• 5 years of progressive field service experience in mechanical/software hardware or 1–2 years with a relevant degree.
• Certification as defined by RD Services Leadership.
• Willingness to travel and overnight travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver regional field engineering support: service, repair, calibration, and installation of cobas i601 systems in customer labs.
• Perform hardware maintenance on mass spec hardware including UH vacuum pumps and LC components.
• Execute preventive maintenance and optimize MS performance.
• Diagnose hardware, electronic, software, and gas/fluidic failures using TIC/mass spectra data.
• Collaborate with operators and FAS teams on routine applications workflows.
