Role Overview

The Marketing Manager reports to the Assistant Director of Online Degree Marketing at LSU Online & Continuing Education (OCE). This position plays a critical role in managing and executing the marketing activities for the programs and portfolios that LSU OCE help support.

Responsibilities
  • Program Marketing Management: Take ownership of marketing activities for individual portfolios that LSU OCE help support. Act as a primary point of contact for program-specific marketing inquiries and requests from internal stakeholders and external partners. Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to support program marketing objectives.
  • 45% Data Analysis and Reporting: Regularly track and analyze lead generation data and marketing efforts and report out data to stakeholders. Provide detailed reports to the Director of Program Success & Marketing, highlighting key performance metrics, trends, and insights. Use data-driven insights to optimize marketing strategies and improve lead generation effectiveness.
  • 20% Collaboration with Internal Teams: Maintain a high level of collaboration with internal teams, including Marketing, Program Management, and Recruitment & Retention teams. Coordinate efforts to ensure alignment of messaging and consistency across all marketing channels. In addition align on program-specific goals with overall enrollment objectives.
  • 15% Content Development and Distribution: Collaborate with content creators to develop high-quality marketing collateral, including but not limited to, website content, blog posts, email newsletters, brochures, and social media content. Ensure content is tailored to resonate with target audiences and aligns with program messaging and branding guidelines.
  • 10% Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in marketing and higher education. Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and improve marketing strategies to drive better results for LSU OCE programs. Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and potential threats. Use insights to refine marketing strategies and differentiate LSU OCE programs in the competitive landscape. Works collaboratively with the LSU Marketing and Communications Office and adheres to the standards set by the division.
  • 5% Other: Attend events, fairs and conferences as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • 5% Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree with 3 years of experience LSU values skills, experience, and expertise. Candidates who have relevant experience in key job responsibilities are encouraged to apply— a degree is not required as long as the candidate meets the required years of experience specified in the job description.
  • Specific Experience: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university. 3 years of marketing and client relation experience, including digital marketing knowledge. Strong attention to detail.

Additional Requirements
  • Operation Essential Personnel - This position may be asked to work during an official closure, but who is otherwise not required to report to the physical campus during a closure and whose absence does not present a risk to the safety, resources, and well-being of the campus per FASOP HR-01.
  • Additional Information Due to the nature of the position and/or responsibilities, in times of emergencies and/or University closures, this position is considered operational essential. It may be required to assist the LSU Marketing and Communications Office on necessary communications matters in times of crisis, including potentially working in LSUs Emergency Operations Center during those times.
