Commerce Services is seeking a Safety Officer to develop, implement, and manage terminal safety programs, training, inspections, and audits to ensure OSHA compliance across maritime terminal operations in Philadelphia.

You will lead safety trainings, conduct site inspections aboard vessels and in warehouses, maintain records, manage drug and alcohol testing, and collaborate with departments to meet safety training needs in all weather conditions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of safety experience, preferably in maritime or heavy industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance practices.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to learn terminal software.
• TWIC credential eligibility or possession.

Responsabilités

• Develop, implement, and manage terminal safety programs, training employees, inspections and audits to ensure OSHA compliance.
• Lead safety training sessions and new hire orientations.
• Participate in safety meetings, site inspections, and internal audits.
• Identify workplace hazards and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain training records and incident documentation, including drug and alcohol testing.
• Collaborate with departments to assess and meet safety training needs.
• Conduct safety inspections aboard vessels, in warehouses, and terminal facilities in all weather conditions.
