Job summary

Commerce Services in Philadelphia is seeking entry-level security personnel for a fast-paced marine terminal environment. This on-site role focuses on monitoring access, patrolling designated areas, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols.

You will assist customers and staff professionally, document incidents, and escalate issues as needed. A high school diploma and security experience are preferred, with the ability to enforce rules and de-escalate tense situations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Security experience.
• Ability to follow and enforce security and safety rules.
• Ability to resolve issues that deviate from the norm and deescalate tension when issues arise.

Responsibilities

• Perform security patrols of designated areas on foot or in vehicle.
• Permit authorized persons to enter property and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn violators of rule infractions, such as trespassing.
• Observe departing personnel to protect against theft of company property and ensure that authorized removal of property is conducted within appropriate client requirements.
• Watch for irregular or unusual conditions that may create security concerns or safety hazards.
• Sound alarms or call police or fire department in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
• Communicate by use of 2-way radios, telephones and computers.
• Investigate and prepare reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Provide assistance to customers, employees and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
