Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to own lifting and handling equipment design for a maritime autonomous vehicle. Reporting to the Structural Mechanical lead, you will create fixtures, cradles, and rigging solutions to enable safe handling during manufacturing, transport, and field operations.

You will perform load analysis, define lift plans, and ensure safety documentation complies with OSHA, Navy, and related standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years of mechanical design, rigging, or material handling equipment experience.
• Experience with lifting fixture design and load analysis.
• Familiarity with rigging safety standards (OSHA, ASME B30, US Navy equivalents).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Own lifting and handling equipment design: fixtures, cradles, spreader bars, slings.
• Perform load analysis and sizing for lifting equipment.
• Define rigging procedures, lift plans, and safety documentation.
• Design for interface with vehicle structural attachment points.
• Coordinate with production, logistics, and deployment teams on handling requirements.
• Support proof load testing and equipment qualification.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, Navy, or equivalent rigging standards.
• Travel up to 25% to manufacturing, test, and operational sites.
