Job summary

Anduril Industries is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to advance the development of a holistic support system for autonomous underwater vehicles, collaborating with vehicle design, field operations, and manufacturing teams.

The role involves refining mechanical solutions for launch and recovery, managing vendors, defining requirements, and ensuring a cost-effective, reliable system across rugged environments with opportunities for hands-on fabrication and testing.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of mechanical design and testing experience in maritime, aerospace, or defense systems.
  • Demonstrated CAD capabilities and ability to produce quality engineering drawings.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate within the Maritime group to design, develop, and deliver robust, unified support systems for autonomous underwater vehicles.
  • Refine mechanical solutions for launch/recovery, handling gear, transportation and testing equipment.
  • Lead vendor qualification and management for COTS components and outsourced design/mfg of support systems.
  • Define requirements, propose solutions, and establish verification methodologies for support systems.
  • Coordinate with electrical and software teams to ensure an integrated, reliable system.
  • Lead design reviews, perform analyses, visit vendors, prototype, and implement test plans.
  • Contribute to tools, templates, processes, and standards within the team.
