Job summary

Metric Marine is seeking an Inside Sales Coordinator to own the quoting process from RFQ receipt to final quote delivery. You will identify products, verify pricing and availability, and turn requests around quickly to generate new and repeat sales.

This hourly, full-time position runs 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with benefits including health insurance, PTO, holidays, and potential quarterly commissions. Industry knowledge in maritime products is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Two years procurement, sales or related experience, education and/or training.
• Analytical ability and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and maintain quote turnaround schedule.
• Comfort with part numbers, specs, and units of measure.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and issue accurate, competitive quotations in response to customer RFQs.
• Review incoming RFQs daily and respond within established turnaround targets.
• Identify correct products from part numbers, specifications, drawings, and descriptions; offer alternatives when unavailable.
• Confirm pricing, stock, lead times, and availability using internal systems and vendor contacts.
• Request and compare vendor pricing on non-stock items to build competitive quotes.
• Follow up on open quotes, revise as needed, and convert to orders.
• Maintain accurate quote records and pricing history for repeat requests.
• Relay accurate product, pricing, and availability information to customers and operations.
• Present a professional image to customers and perform other duties as assigned.
