Job summary

SSA Marine, a Seattle-based global operator of marine terminals, is seeking a Marine Business Development Manager in Savannah, GA. You will manage customer relationships, quote rates for shipments, and develop contracts in a dynamic regional market.

The role involves frequent travel domestically and to Canada; collaboration with the commercial team and operations to align rates with capacity and terms. A bachelor’s degree and maritime experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• 5 years of work experience in transportation and maritime industry with focus on vessel stevedoring and marine terminal operations.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, especially Excel and Word.
• Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms.
• Valid Driver’s License; ability to obtain TWIC card and passport.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Must be comfortable with sales and making business proposals.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer relationships and expectations for professional relationships.
• Monitor accounts and forecast; track pipeline and volumes.
• Coordinate with RVP and Commercial team on account developments.
• Input customer updates into CRM; update on prospective interactions.
• Oversee rate quotes for cargo; coordinate with SSA billing on quotes.
• Develop rate structures with operations; negotiate contracts.
• Coordinate with credit to determine credit terms; assist with billing reviews.
