Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer for maritime and civil works infrastructure in a Federal team. You will lead design, guide project teams, and interact with clients, owners, and contractors to deliver robust structural solutions.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills. Flexible, hybrid/remote work options are offered with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
  • At least 10 years’ relevant professional experience designing structures for maritime, civil works, and buildings.
  • Experience in a multi‑disciplined environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including presentations.
  • Proficiency in structural finite element analysis software (ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP2000, MathCAD).
  • Knowledge of technical codes & standards (IBC, ASCE, UFC, etc.).
  • United States Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams through the design process.
  • Coordinate design activities with waterfront ports and maritime engineers.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and quality of engineering tasks and documents.
  • Interact with clients, owners, and contractors to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Collaborate with Jacobs staff across lines of business.
