Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Structural Engineer specializing in maritime and civil works to lead design teams and coordinate with clients, owners, and contractors across projects such as locks, dams, tidal gates, and piers.

Ideal candidates have a PE license and 10+ years of relevant experience, with strong communication skills and proficiency in major FEA tools. The role offers a hybrid/remote working policy and competitive benefits.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Structural or Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • 10+ years of experience designing structures for maritime, civil works and buildings.
  • Experience in a multi-disciplined environment.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software: ETABS, RISA, RAM, STAAD, SAP2000, MathCAD.
  • Knowledge of IBC, ASCE, UFC, etc.
  • US Citizenship

Responsibilities

  • Lead project teams through the design process for maritime and civil works.
  • Coordinate with clients, owners, and contractors to ensure scope, schedule and budget adherence.
  • Build relationships with waterfront ports and maritime engineers across Jacobs.
  • Ensure quality of calculations and construction documents.

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering with structural emphasis
P.E. license
US Citizenship
Strong analytical skills
Strong written and verbal communication
FEA software proficiency
