Job summary

Orion Marine Group seeks a Safety & Compliance professional to develop and oversee programs across marine construction sites. You will coordinate risk management, emergency planning, incident prevention, and safety training to safeguard personnel and operations.

The role requires hands-on experience, BCSP credentials, and ability to interface with employees at all levels while ensuring adherence to local, state, and federal safety regulations.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 years safety and health experience in marine construction environment is required.
• A B.S. or A.A.S. Degree in Occupational or Industrial Safety or related discipline is strongly preferred.
• A BCSP safety credential (CSP ASP CHST OHST STS-C Etc.) is required or the candidate must be able to obtain a BCSP credential within 1 year.
• Working knowledge of Safety Management, local/state/federal regulations, and safety policies.
• Prior experience in the Marine Construction industry is preferred.
• Ability to interface with employees at all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Provides administrative analytical and Safety project support.
• Updates safety reports weekly, monthly PCSR, and quarterly recognition reports.
• Supports development of bid proposals including Safety Plans and emergency action plans.
• Develops and maintains Safety department files.
• Assists with safety inspections and audits as a team member.
• Analyzes safety data to identify areas for improvement.
• Coordinates training class registration and instructor support.
• Provides claims administrative support for safety-related matters.
• Data entry into Safety Management System (Intelex) and related databases.
