Job summary

Orion is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead marine construction projects in the Houston area. The role focuses on developing bid packages, managing costs, procuring materials, and coordinating with superintendents and suppliers to ensure on-time completion.

The ideal candidate has a BS in Civil Engineering/Construction Management and at least 8 years of relevant experience, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in heavy industrial settings.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Management or related discipline and 8 years’ experience.
• Experience in marine construction or heavy industrial industries preferred.
• Working knowledge of project management & administration, procurement, estimating, scheduling, cost control, and safety/environmental compliance.

Responsibilities

• Works with the Project Management Team to ensure successful completion and profitability of projects.
• Provides project management guidance and oversight to Superintendents and Foremen for marine construction projects.
• Develops bid proposals for upcoming marine construction and services projects and ensures timely submission.
• Negotiates contracts and change orders as required.
• Estimates costs for materials, services, labor, and other project costs.
• Procures materials and services from suppliers for current projects.
• Interprets project plans and specifications for customers, suppliers, or others involved.
• Schedules project work activities to meet plan timelines.
• Ensures a safe work environment and compliance with safety policies.
• Participates in Safety and Environmental initiatives for compliance and improvement.
• Must drive to visit work locations and job sites.
