Job summary

Rolls-Royce plc, Alameda, CA, is seeking an Associate Marine Service Technician to troubleshoot, repair, overhaul, test and commission marine engines and propulsion systems aboard vessels. This mobile field-service role requires up to 100% travel domestically and internationally, with relocation assistance provided if applicable.

Two years of mechanical trade schooling or an associate degree in a related technical field are preferred, along with at least two years of field-service experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of mechanical trade school or an associate degree in a related technical field.
• At least two years of field-service experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
• U.S. citizenship is required to support government contract activities.

Responsibilities

• Travel domestically and internationally up to 70–100% to support service, troubleshooting, repair, overhaul, commissioning, and operation of marine engines and propulsion systems.
• Analyze technical data and define the scope of field activities, and prepare parts, tools, instrumentation, and testing equipment.
• Inspect, instrument, test, and evaluate engines and propulsion systems, maintaining accurate records.
• Provide customers and service personnel with technical assistance and practical instruction on maintenance and safe operation of mtu equipment.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, service, and quality teams to improve service manuals, bulletins, and documentation.
