Job summary

Serco Inc. is seeking a Marine Engineer for our Maritime Engineering Operation (MEO) in Arlington, VA.

You will perform analyses, develop designs for ships and marine systems, and collaborate with naval architecture and structures teams to deliver compliant, operable solutions. You will lead design integrations, prepare specifications, and provide on-site support during construction and testing, while maintaining QA and security standards across programs for US Navy and commercial maritime

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree ABET-accredited in Marine Engineering or related field.
5+ years progressive Marine Engineering experience.
Knowledge of engineering science applications to marine craft.
Experience in government contracting environments.

Responsibilities

Perform design reviews for auxiliary, fluid, mechanical, engine, and propulsion systems.
Develop analyses and deliverables per regulatory rules and standards.
Lead or participate in defining design requirements and specifications.
Integrate multiple disciplines to establish machinery arrangements and space layouts.
Provide concept studies for auxiliary systems and equipment.
Support test site and shipyard activities with on-site engineering.
Prepare documentation and briefs for clients and management.
Ensure compliance with QA and security policies.
