Job summary

Orion is seeking a skilled carpenter to support marine construction projects. You will construct, erect, install, and repair concrete forms, frames, and shelters according to sketches, blueprints, or oral instructions at project locations.

You will work with a team including a Project Superintendent and Barge Foreman, following safety policies and environmental guidelines to ensure high-quality results.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years carpentry experience or an equivalent combination providing carpentry skills.
• Ability to communicate well and knowledge of carpentry practices.
• Knowledge of concrete forming systems.
• Operation of marine equipment and devices.
• Importance of safe work practices in a marine construction environment.

Responsibilities

• Work as assigned by the Project Superintendent or Barge Foreman to complete marine construction projects.
• Interpret plans and specifications to build, construct, or repair wooden structures.
• Lay out foundation, building lines, and anchor bolts.
• Erect forms and monitor pours for depressed areas and building lines.
• Collaborate with Barge Foreman, Crane Operators, Helpers and others to complete projects safely.
• Participate in Safety and Environmental initiatives to improve company programs.
