Job summary

ORION Marine Construction Gulf Coast is seeking a skilled carpenter for marine project locations in Southern Louisiana, including Lake Charles and Baton Rouge areas. You will construct, erect, install and repair concrete forms, scaffolds, and shelters according to blueprints and sketches.

Two years of carpentry experience and the ability to read plans, work safely around heavy equipment, and collaborate with foremen and crew are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of carpentry experience or equivalent training.
• Ability to communicate well with supervisors and crew.
• Knowledge of carpentry practices and safety in a marine construction environment.
• General knowledge of concrete forming systems and materials.

Responsibilities

• Works as assigned to ensure successful completion of marine construction projects.
• Secure and maintain basic tools required for carpentry duties.
• Interpret plans and specifications to build or repair wooden structures or forms.
• Receive and unload materials safely and efficiently.
• Lay out foundations, building lines and anchor bolts.
• Erect forms, monitor pours, and perform wood framing as required.
• Inspect and repair wooden structures and coordinate with the crew for project needs.
• Participate in safety and environmental initiatives and ensure compliance with regulations.
