Job summary

Harbor Point Marinas in Stamford, CT seeks an experienced Dock Master to oversee daily dock operations and elevate guest experiences at our waterfront marinas. You will lead the dock team, assist vessel arrivals and departures, coordinate slip activity, and enforce safety and marina procedures across a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in marina operations or dock management.
• Strong knowledge of recreational boating and docking procedures.
• Experience supervising dockhands or marina staff.
• Excellent customer service and hospitality mindset.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dock operations to ensure a safe, organized marina experience.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for marina customers, boaters, guests, and visitors.
• Provide hands-on assistance with vessel arrivals and departures, docking, line handling, and slip assignments.
• Coordinate daily slip activity and communicate docking instructions and marina procedures to customers and guests.
• Supervise, schedule, train, and direct dockhands and seasonal marina staff.
• Maintain high professionalism, responsiveness, and customer service across the dock team.
• Monitor docks, slips, utilities, equipment, and areas; identify maintenance or safety concerns.
• Ensure docks and marina areas are clean, safe, and guest-ready.
• Enforce marina rules, boating safety procedures, and company policies.
• Monitor weather and waterfront conditions and communicate safety concerns.
• Assist boaters with shore power, water connections, dock carts, and marina services.
• Respond to customer questions, requests, and concerns promptly.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams and vendors for repairs and needs.
• Support seasonal opening/closing procedures and winterization.
• Maintain marina logs, records, and incident reports.
• Assist with marina events and Harbor Point initiatives.
• Collaborate with property management, security, maintenance, and teams for safe operations.
• Assist with emergency response and safety procedures.
