Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Maps team. You will lead backend engineers to deliver highly available infrastructure, collaborate with product, operations, and data science, and drive architectural decisions. Emphasis on AI tooling and scalable services with top-tier code quality.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field and practical work experience.
• 9+ years of post-Bachelor software development experience; or 8+ years with a Master's; or 5+ years with a PhD.
• 1+ years of team management or technical lead experience.
• Experience with distributed systems and backend service development.

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of backend engineers in a fast-paced environment.
• Set strategy, roadmaps, measurable goals, and lead the team to delivery.
• Collaborate with Product, Operations, Data Science and other engineering teams.
• Evaluate technical tradeoffs and mentor on architecture, performance, security.
• Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members.
• Leverage AI tools to design and ship scalable services with strong code quality.
