Hivemapper is seeking a senior backend engineer to drive architecture, design, and implementation of our core AI systems and data platform. You will partner across teams to ensure scalability and reliability for thousands of users.

The role emphasizes mentoring teams, planning technical roadmaps, and shaping strategy for distributed systems, ETL pipelines, and geospatial data processing. Strong analytical skills in ML or statistics are valued.

Qualifications

• Experience building production critical systems used by thousands of users.
• Deep backend experience with a large scale data platform, DB, ETL, distributed system, etc.
• Strong analytical skills in ML, math, statistics, quantitative economics, etc.
• Track record of leading and mentoring teams in successful projects.
