Job summary
Google is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead and mentor engineers across multiple maps-related projects, including information retrieval, AI, and large-scale systems. You will guide technical direction, drive product strategy, and oversee multi-site deployments while building strong teams and delivering impactful software at scale.
The Geo team focuses on Maps, Earth, Street View, and related platforms, delivering reliable, user-friendly experiences to billions of users.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in software development.
- 3 years of experience with full stack development across back-end and front-end, including Java, Python, Golang, C++, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, CSS.
- 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role.
- 2 years of experience in people management or team leadership.
Responsibilities
- Set and communicate team priorities that align with organizational goals.
- Set expectations and provide performance feedback and coaching.
- Develop mid-term technical goals and roadmaps for one or more teams.
- Design and guide system designs and contribute code for complex problems.
- Review code and ensure best practices and quality.
