Job summary

Snap Inc. is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team of developers. The role emphasizes setting strategy, building roadmaps, and collaborating with cross‑functional partners across Product, Operations, Data Science and Engineering.

You will mentor engineers, hire top talent, and ensure code quality, security, and scalable production services. A strong background in distributed systems, web development, and AI‑assisted workflows is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in CS or equivalent years of practical work experience.
• 9+ years of post-Bachelor’s software development experience; or a Master’s degree in a technical field + 8+ year of post-grad software development experience; or a PhD in a related technical field + 5+ years of post-grad software development experience
• 1+ years of experience managing a team or acting as a technical lead
• Experience with distributed systems and web development

Responsibilities

• Manage and mentor a team of developers in a fast-paced, quick-to-market environment
• Set the strategy, build a roadmap, create measurable goals, and lead your team to deliver
• Collaborate with Product, Operation, Data Science and Engineering teams, and executive stakeholders
• Evaluate the technical tradeoffs of major decisions and be a strong technical mentor
• Hire, grow and retain high-performing team members
• Utilize AI tools and high-velocity engineering workflows to design and ship scalable services while upholding rigorous standards for code correctness, security, and production-ready quality code
