General Motors in Toledo, OH seeks a Manufacturing Process Engineer with a strong background in mechanical/manufacturing engineering to troubleshoot equipment, improve tooling and processes, and lead cross-functional teams on cost-reduction initiatives.

The role requires experience in process engineering disciplines, ability to work autonomously, and strong communication with multiple functions. On-site with relocation assistance potential for qualified candidates.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated high level of analytical ability including experience with structured technical problem-solving methods such as RedX or Design for Six Sigma
• Ability to work in a team environment to understand products, processes, and failure modes
• Proven ability to manage multiple and difficult projects with autonomy and accountability

Responsabilidades

• Supports continuous improvement projects
• Approval of process documentation
• Diagnose, analyze, and document emergent tooling issues
• Create Engineering sufficiency plans as required
• Ensure supply base adheres to GM standards and quality, and manufacturing processes are enabled
• Design, analyze and implement product or machinery designs for best method for manufacturing processes
• Propose and evaluate processes for equipment in the assigned area
• Direct the design, development, and/or improvement of manufacturing processes for the assigned area
• Maintain regular contact with cross-functional teams and lead small teams
• Provide direction to a small group of technical employees
• Monitor expenditures for processes and equipment
• Apply strong technical knowledge in process engineering disciplines
• Implement GMS principles
